I started to compete rather late in my fitness journey, and have only stepped on stage a few times.  My training began back in 1990, but my level of dedication became much more serious in 1999.  I did not enter my first competition until 2002.  As my biography reveals, I swept 4 overall Championships in Bodybuilding that year, which lead me to Nationals in Dallas in November 2002.  It was here that I decided that bodybuilding was not the direction for me.  In January 2003, I began paving my way into Fitness.  It took me until June 2004 to enter my first competition in Bloomington, Illinois.  I have since competed in 2 National Fitness Shows, placing 14th in my first, and 8th in my second.  My primary barrier has been too much muscle, and not enough fluidity in my routine flow.  But nonetheless, my fitness skills have become a force to reckon with.  The judges have always commended my routine elements as stellar.

As I type this it is April 2008, and I have not competed in Fitness since November 2006.  This break in the flow was primarily due to a serious ankle injury in 2007, which halted my training for a while.  However, I have continued to keep up with my skills and training regimen - in anticipation that I will step back out on the Fitness stage in 2008.  If this does not happen, I will pave my way to the Figure stage.  I have worked relentlessly on my Fitness skills, and am very pleased with all I have accomplished ... especially considering I have no background in dance, gymnastics nor cheerleading.  The thought of retiring in Fitness is a tough pill to swallow, however, I will choose a path that is first and foremost intelligent.  At this moment, I am 49 years old, and must always consider "preservation" over "desire".

What I've learned these past 5 years is a result of relentless determination, and a passion for teaching my body amazing things.  I have worked to perfect many strength skills that are not often seen on the competition circuit.   It takes an unwaivering drive and perseverance to jump on the Fitness train, so for those interested and hungry to learn, I will be happy to offer consultations for one on one skill training.  Visit my E-shop for details.
